Stories from the State

Advocates from across the country submit their patient stories about 24/7 care, large corporate insurers, and rural healthcare access in order to highlight the importance of access to care.
Both myself and loved ones have had to go without basic medical care as a result of what’s regularly determined to be preexisting conditions which happened during military service and work related injuries. We had finally gotten past that and here we are back to having no insurance unless we pay more than we make every month.

My husband had a heart attack and would have died if our local hospital would not have been open and close by. Medical care facilities need to be available 24/7.
