WASHINGTON— The Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare today launched the newest ad in its national Faces of Medicaid campaign, Mom, telling the story of a family navigating the threat of limited healthcare options if Congress decides to make cuts to Medicaid.

The campaign comes as Congress weighs significant Medicaid cuts, amounting to the loss of coverage for over 8 million Americans, and as recent polling shows that a wide majority of Americans support Medicaid.

Medicaid provides critical coverage for over 7.2 million seniors, including services not offered through Medicare, such as long-term nursing home care. Proposed Medicaid cuts will slash millions of Americans’ health coverage and threaten access to care – including nursing home care – for millions more.

Today, Medicaid covers 5 in 8 nursing home residents. Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of seniors and older Americans on fixed incomes. Without it, many would struggle to afford necessary services like transportation to doctor appointments and access to important medical equipment, leading to poorer health outcomes and increased financial strain for them and their families.

The ad will run across national media markets as part of the Coalition’s broader Faces of Medicaid campaign, a seven-figure campaign highlighting the devastating impact Medicaid cuts will have on children, seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and more.

The ad will begin airing Tuesday, May 13th, on national cable and through a robust digital media campaign.
