WASHINGTON: The Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare today launched a new national television and digital ad, Promises, that highlights President Trump’s multiple comments reaffirming his commitments to “love and cherish” and “not touch” the Medicaid program while calling on Congress to protect the program from cuts.

The new ad comes as Congress continues to move forward with the budget reconciliation process that could include billions of dollars in potential Medicaid cuts.

Medicaid provides critical healthcare coverage to more than 72 million Americans, including children, seniors, and veterans. Medicaid cuts could severely threaten children’s access to care, especially those in rural areas. Further, Medicaid covers nearly half of children with special health care needs.

The Medicaid program continues to show wide support nationwide. Recent polling shows that Medicaid is viewed favorably by 75% of Republicans, and nearly nine in ten Americans favor either increasing or keeping Medicaid funding at current levels.

The ads, part of an ongoing seven-figure television buy, will begin airing Thursday, April 3rd, on national cable, and through a robust digital media campaign.
