The Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care has launched a new TV ad urging Congress not to make reductions to Medicare payments to hospitals and health systems that would reduce access to care and services for Medicare patients.

The ad notes that the federal government pays hospitals just 84% of the cost of caring for seniors on Medicare and that reductions to Medicare will make it harder for seniors to get the healthcare they deserve. This comes as hospitals and health systems continue to navigate tough financial times, workforce shortages and high inflation. The ad ends by urging Congress to protect seniors’ access to care and stop reductions to hospital funding.

The Coalition will launch the TV ad nationally on Sunday, and it will run on cable stations in Washington, D.C. It will be followed by digital ads and a social media push from the Coalition’s various communications channels.
