Seven-figure ad buy highlights Medicaid’s lifesaving impact on nearly half of America’s children and calls on Congress to not cut program.
WASHINGTON—The Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare today launched the next ad of its national Faces of Medicaid campaign, 30 million, which highlights the devastating impact Medicaid cuts would have on the more than 30 million children who rely on Medicaid for life-saving surgeries, regular checkups, and other vital services.
The campaign comes as Congress continues work on a budget reconciliation bill and mounting pressure to oppose potential Medicaid cuts grows across the country. The ad ends by asking viewers to call Congress and tell them to not cut Medicaid for America’s children and families.
In addition to a range of preventative services, Medicaid provides critical healthcare coverage to children with complex and chronic illnesses in need of long-term care, including one in three children diagnosed with cancer. Further, Medicaid covers nearly half of children with special healthcare needs and is the largest provider of mental health services for children. Medicaid cuts would severely threaten children’s access to care, especially those in rural areas.
Medicaid significantly improves healthcare access and outcomes for children and young adults, ensuring they receive the care they deserve. It also reduces financial strain on families by covering medical expenses that would otherwise be unaffordable.
