Stories from the State

Advocates from across the country submit their patient stories about 24/7 care, large corporate insurers, and rural healthcare access in order to highlight the importance of access to care.
I live in a rural area in Central Kentucky and we are blessed with a small hospital. I’m a Type-1 Diabetic with other medical conditions as well, so access to healthcare is of utmost concern to me. We have a great CEO of our hospital who works to improve service and recruit medical providers every day. The only thing I have to go out of town for is endocrinology, cardiology and neurology. Our hospital staff cares deeply about our community.

I have always been blessed to live in areas were healthcare was available. Most of my life I have lived in rural central Kentucky, and there has always been very kind doctors and basic hospital care available within a drivable distance. Those hospitals and doctors provided care for our family and those of our neighbors.
