Stories from the State

Advocates from across the country submit their patient stories about 24/7 care, large corporate insurers, and rural healthcare access in order to highlight the importance of access to care.
I’m a diabetic. I had to go to the hospital to get my toe amputated. Without Medicare I wouldn’t be able to get the amputation and would have probably died from the MERSA infection I had running through my foot and body. We need Medicare.

I suffered a mini stroke March 2024 and went to the emergency room. Everyone at Havasu Regional Hospital took excellent care of me for three days, running many tests and blood tests. I am amazed at how each doctor, nurse and assistants does their job with good people skills.
