Growing pressures facing hospitals and health systems could mean service cuts that impact patients, especially in rural communities
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A new advertising campaign from the Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare, titled “How Much More,” highlights the real-world consequences for patients as a result of growing financial pressures facing hospitals and health systems across the country. The TV and digital ad is the latest in an ongoing series that focuses on the impact of impending Medicaid cuts, which place critical hospital services at risk and force hospitals to absorb billions of dollars in unpaid care.
The ad highlights how these pressures are particularly acute in rural communities, where many hospitals already struggle to stay afloat and maintain essential services. From putting critical services at risk to threatening entire hospitals with closure, the consequences of these cuts are already being felt in communities across the country. As hospitals work to provide 24/7 quality care to anyone who walks through their doors, cuts will compromise their ability to provide care and put patients at risk at a time when Americans already have major concerns about the cost and accessibility of healthcare.
The Coalition’s TV ad will run across broadcast and cable in DC, including Sunday shows, and connected TV, through early November.
